RICHIE JAGO

COMPOSER   PRODUCER

Richie Jago is a Berlin-based, Irish composer and multi-instrumentalist who writes music for film. He has worked across many genres to date. His style often makes use of synthesizers and electronic instrumentation. He frequently blends these electronic elements with orchestral and acoustic instruments.

His recent credits include Bean (2026), directed by Hiram Harrington, which screened at the 38th Galway Film Fleadh; a score blending reversed prepared piano with subtle synth pads. He scored Táine King's Molly and the Robot (2026), winner of the DIFF 2026 Audience Award; this score draws on traditional Irish elements set against synths and strings to try to capture something of a dystopian future. For Keith Jordon's Jill and Lill do Knick Knacks (2023), he wrote an orchestral score for a coming-of-age comedy, while Harrington's Glory, Hole (2023) horror called for a much heavier approach; a darker and disturbing synth-driven soundscape.

Outside of film, Jago released Alongside You (2024), an LP inspired by Darren Ryan's photography. Each track started from a different photograph, built out from string quartet writing and layered with synths, keys, and rhythms. As a guitarist, Jago has appeared multiple times on Irish national television and radio and played many of Ireland's top festivals.
